We hosted a quest speaker, Maggie Beirne, who traveled from London to give the talk. Maggie was Director of the Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ) in the period which saw the transition from violent conflict to peace negotiations and a peace process in Northern Ireland. CAJ’s efforts to put human rights and equality at the heart of the peace initiative were recognized by the award of the Council of Europe Human Rights Prize in 1998. The group would like to take this opportunity to thank Maggie for her time and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
